Whitney Sudler-Smith Teases Series with Shep Rose

Whitney Sudler-Smith is expanding his filmography.

During a recent trip to Zurich, Switzerland, the musician/filmmaker confirmed he had several exciting projects on deck. And one of them included his good friend and fellow Southern Charm-er Shep Rose. Although he kept the details to a minimum, Whitney told Deadline he and Shep were joining forces on a digital “adventure show” that was a cross between Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and The Trip.

“We’re really excited about it,” he told the outlet.

Whitney Sudler-Smith to direct feature film New Rose

Whitney is also working on New Rose, a comedic thriller he described as “American Psycho meets Love Island.” The Washington, D.C., native wrote and plans to direct the feature film with backing from AC Independent and Thank You Pictures.

Somewhat inspired by reality dating shows, New Rose will tell the story of a Ukrainian military vet who “gets a thirst for killing” when he returns to his civilian life.

“Then some reality producers come calling and they want him to come back to an all-stars reality show on a remote island, and you can assume what happens after that,” Whitney explained.

New Rose is expected to begin filming in spring 2026.

Whitney Sudler-Smith is developing a comedy series called Family Office

In addition to the feature film, Whitney is developing a scripted comedy series called Family Office. The Oxford University alum said the show aims to take “the piss out of young London society with the intrigue of a Bourne Identity.”

“The pitch is Gossip Girl on ketamine,” he said.

Whitney told the outlet he’s still working on the series’ pilot, which he plans to shoot in the upcoming months.

Whitney Sudler-Smith’s Decades-Long Film and TV Career

Whitney made his Bravo debut in 2014, serving as a main cast member and executive producer of Southern Charm. He went on to produce the series’ spinoffs Southern Charm Savannah and Southern Charm New Orleans, which had two seasons each; however, Whitney’s filmography goes way beyond the Bravo-verse. He spoke about his extensive career during a 2016 interview with The Daily Dish, saying he began pursuing film writing in the 1990s.

“I had been studying French literature at the time in Paris, and had an ill-informed revelation that I should combine my love of writing with film,” he said. “I ended up in L.A. taking screenwriting classes, luckily got an agent, and found work re-writing bad action scripts. Die Hard was a great teacher.”

Whitney went on to direct and produce numerous projects, including the fashion documentary Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston, the buddy comedy Bubby and Ike, as well as two short films, Going for Baroque and Afternoon Delight.
