Porsha Williams is sharing new details on her relationship with her girlfriend, Patrice “Sway” McKinney, months after she confirmed they were dating.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday, Jan. 14, where she revealed that her relationship was refreshing after she had a difficult time during RHOA Season 16 as she navigated her split from her now ex-husband.”This season before was really tough,” Porsha told WWHL host Andy Cohen. “I was going through my divorce, and I had to show up for the other girls in a way I really didn’t like.”
But now, Porsha is in a different place as she is in a new relationship and a new era of her life. “But this season for me was about where the love is,” she added. “If you love me, I’m here.”

Patrice is a salon suite mentor, motivational speaker, who helps “people open a profitable salon suite business,” according to her Instagram bio. “I am a coach and a mentor, specifically in the hair and beauty industry,” she said during a Jan. 14 episode of The Marvin Francois Show. “So I primarily teach people how to start and scale their own salon suite business anywhere in the world without any experience, without any licensing.”

Porsha first met with Patrice through Instagram years before they started dating. “She and I had actually connected years and years ago on Instagram,” Porsha explained during a December interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I had seen her page and liked a couple of things, you know, give a like here and that. So we had a little communication on Instagram over eight years ago.”
Flash forward to a few years later, and Patrice had a brand new Instagram account, which Porsha did not know belonged to her. “Her page looked totally different, so I didn’t connect the two, but I was still connected to her and her spirit, so I was like, ‘Boom.’ Click another like. You know what I mean? And then we ended up connecting in the DMs, and kind of from there I met her with [my sister] Lauren [Williams] and we had some drinks and we had a good time.”

In the months since she finalized her divorce from Simon, Porsha found love again and has been open about her relationship with Sway. “I’m just doing what feels natural,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I really wanted to explore that side of Porsha, and I’m glad I did because I’m really happy. I feel good about where I am, and the family is very supportive of it.”

But, they are taking things a bit slow and not jumping to put a label on things. “We are definitely still dating, and I don’t want to put too much pressure on it,” she said at the time of the ETÂ interview. “You know, I move really fast. The next time you see me, I might be engaged. So if I’m doing it slower, let me do it a little slow. So yes, we are dating each other, we’re enjoying each other, we’re very close.”

Porsha first went public with their relationship on Instagram on Nov. 28. The mom of one took to her account on Patrice’s birthday, where she posted a series of photos and videos of them looking so happy and having so much fun together.
“Happiest birthday [Sway],” she wrote in the caption of the post. “Hope this year continues to bring you everything you want and more! Can’t wait to act up Saturday!”
Patrice then took to the comments of the post, where she returned the affection to Porsha. “Damn babe,” she wrote. “Sweet af…Thank you again!”
Porsha Williams opens up about her romantic life today after her divorce
Porsha had previously opened up about her relationship during an appearance at BravoCon 2025. When Porsha appeared on an episode of BravoCon Live! Andy asked her about her experience “swimming in the lady pond.”
“Oh, well, I have dipped a toe or two in the pond,” she said. “And it is warm. It is warm.”

Prior to that, Porsha appeared on a panel at CultureCon where she revealed that she was involved with both a man and a woman. “So the people I am talking to now — it’s just two — I’ve narrowed it down to two. And he is nice and she is nice,” she explained. “But I really just wanted to make sure these were normal people….They’re not letting me walk over them. They aren’t just doing whatever they need to do to get into the relationship…I have to expect someone to call me out from time to time.”
