Why Aesha Scott & Daisy Kelliher Changed Below Deck Series

Aesha Scott is currently the chief stew on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10, but she was once the chief stew for Below Deck Down Under Seasons 1 and 2. Meanwhile, Below Deck Sailing Yacht chief stew Daisy Kelliher is about to take on the role on for Below Deck Down Under Season 4, and neither of them had problems transitioning to their new yachts.

Both Daisy and Aesha spoke with Us Weekly on Sept. 24, where they opened up about their experience in switching over series within the franchise. Daisy admitted that the transition from Below Deck Sailing Yacht, where she served as chief stew for Seasons 2 through 5, was “nerve racking.”

“I got very familiar with Parsifal and Captain Glenn Shephard and to what sailing was all about,” she explained. “[Suddenly, on Below Deck Down Under it was like], ‘Oh, can I do this? What’s it going to be like? Am I going to clash with the captain? Can I do a motorboat? I think it was good for me to change and be given a new challenge, but I was certainly very, very nervous.”

Daisy didn’t reach out to Aesha or anyone else when it came time to joining the cast for BDDU Season 4 and working with Captain Jason Chambers. “I wanted to have my own experience,” she admitted to the publication.

“I’m human, just like everyone else and I didn’t want my experience to be influenced by other opinions,” she continued. “I’d watched the season, so I had an idea of what I was walking into. I knew Jason was going to be there, and that’s all I really needed to know.”

However, Aesha has been happy to return to Below Deck Med, where she was a second stew for Seasons 4 and 5 before re-joining the cast as chief stew for both Seasons 9 and 10. “It wasn’t anything to do with what captain I liked better,” she admitted. “It’s purely just that I love the Med. That’s where my yachting heart is.”
