It may be all sunshine and rainbows on chief stew Aesha Scott’s interior team on Season 10’s Below Deck Mediterranean, but the same can’t be said for bosun Nathan Gallagher’s deck team.

The comedy of errors from deckhands Max Salvador, Christian Trimino and Tessa Budd continues in the above preview for Episode 4 (airing Monday, Oct. 20) as the episode opens with Christian floating away on a jet ski that’s run out of fuel.

“Guys, come and get me, like, I’m drifting really far from the boat,” Christian calls out on the radio. Captain Sandy Yawn, who’s on deck watching everything go down, exclaims, “Are you f—king kidding me?”

The embarrassing predicament doesn’t go unnoticed by the guests, including primary Jack Freeman, who points out, “He’s floating away.” Guest Simon replies with a laugh, “Oh, he’ll figure it out.”

Nathan quickly tries to get control of the unraveling situation, and asks Max to go tow Christian and the jet ski back to motor yacht Bravado. He then reminds Tessa of her duties. “Tessa, Tessa,” he calls on the radio. “We’re going to have to stay on top of fueling the jet skis.”

Producers show a flash back to the previous night, as Nathan tells Tessa, “The biggest thing is to refuel the jet skis.” After Tessa apologizes to Nathan for her error, she admits, “I completely forgot to do that.”

Sandy, who is still observing the flailing deck crew, mutters to herself, “That’s terrible.”

In stark contrast, the preview shows stew Kizzi Kitchener creating beautifully folded napkins, and stew Victoria “V” SanJuan offering to help chef Josh Bingham with dishes as she gets free time.

“I have to admit, my team is handling this second charter really well,” Aesha confesses. “V and Kizzi seem like they’re keeping up. I’m starting to feel a little bit guilty about the juxtaposition between the interior and the deck. It’s like, birds chirping, songs singing, on the inside. And it’s like, apocalypse now on the outside.”

Captain Sandy Yawn warns Nathan Gallagher to get the deck team in line

Sandy isn’t pleased with the deck team in the first look at Below Deck Med’s Episode 4. “You really need to organize this. And they have to take care of their duties,” she lectures Nathan, who replies, “I have to say that to them twice now.”

Sandy is sympathetic to Nathan’s trouble keeping the deck team in line, and tells him, “I’m sorry that you have to do all that explaining. That should be common sense. But you have some people who don’t get it.”

Max is also upset about the worsening deck situation. “The dynamic of the deck team right now is like, taking Christian on this shoulder, taking Tess on this shoulder, and just like getting heavier,” he complains in his confessional interview. “So useless.”

Producers capture Nathan asking Tessa to pass Max and Christian a line, and when he gets no response, running out himself and telling her to do it “quicker.”

Nathan’s annoyance is palpable as he admits, “The first charter, I was giving my team the benefit of the doubt, and I tried teaching them. But now, second charter, this has gone beyond a joke. ‘Keep an eye on the jet skis’ fuel level every time the guests use them’ could not be more basic. It’s unbelievable.”

Sandy threatens to make changes, as she says in her confessional interview, “Charter two, I’m paying attention. I can see Nathan doing everything possible to lead his team. But Tess and Christian are still the same as charter one. I’m not sure where their minds are, but it’s complete chaos.”

Who gets fired on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10?

At the end of Episode 3, a sneak peek at Episode 4 hints that a big change could be coming to the deck team. Captain Sandy told Nathan, “The deck team is total chaos,” before forcing him to make a critical decision: “This is your call, Nathan. Who are you going to let go?”

Tune in to Episode 4, airing Oct. 20, to find out more.

In the meantime, don’t miss Aesha revealing her hair regrets during Below Deck Med Season 10 and why she “freaked out.”
