As an NFL wife, The Real Housewives of Potomac‘s Angel Massie was used to having to pick up and move to a new city on short notice, but she didn’t expect that trend to continue after husband Bobby Massie’s pro football retirement.
That’s exactly what happened during Season 10, Episode 11, however, when some confusion over the end date on her DMV home’s short-term rental agreement led to Angel’s unexpected move back to Colorado, where Bobby last played for the Denver Broncos.
“Long story short, we got the rental so that, obviously, we could be in Maryland while we’re looking for our Maryland home,” Angel explained in a confessional. “The homeowners thought that we were going to be gone for a certain period of time, and there was a miscommunication on dates. It’s as simple as that. That’s why we’re trying to find a house to buy, so we don’t have to encounter that situation again.”

Both Keiarna Stewart and Tia Glover stopped by the Massies’ rental home to help Angel pack up some belongings. As she pointed out, however, the house came fully furnished, thereby majorly cutting down on the workload.
“That’s why we have to go back [to Colorado],” Angel told the ladies. “Because we have to get our stuff.”
Angel vowed to return to Potomac, though, once she and Bobby found a house there that they “love” — and Tia even offered to assist them. In the interim, she said their plan was to travel “back and forth” between the DMV and Colorado.
How Angel Massie’s move impacted her friendships with the RHOP cast
Word of Angel’s move spread quickly among her RHOP castmates, especially since Gizelle Bryant happened to call Tia just as she was leaving the Massies’ rental home. Gizelle, for one, questioned whether or not Angel every truly intended to permanently relocate to Maryland, in the first place.
Later, Gizelle debriefed Ashley Darby and Wendy Osefo on the situation during a night out, and as the trio gossiped about the situation, Angel sent a text message inviting them to Colorado.
As Angel explained to a producer, “Because the ladies have made so many different overtures about not getting to know me and how I’m so closed off — and since we need to go back to Colorado — inviting them to my happy place and space is a way for them to get to know me a little bit more.”

Before they had that opportunity, however, tensions rose when Angel and her family arrived late to Gizelle and Wendy’s cowboy-themed party. On The Real Housewives of Potomac After Show, Angel cited the move as the reason for their tardiness.
“You know why I was late? Because I had to move to a new home and all my s–t was in boxes,” she explained. “And I graced them with my presence, even though I had to fish around said boxes to find my cowgirl hat and to make an appearance. And I think that was very kind of me.”
Angel continued, “Anyone else would not have shown up to that. Anyone else would have given themselves grace and space to chill after they had moved. But, instead, I said I am going to be there…. I mean, [there] was just a lot going on, and so, I was late. I mean, sue me.”

During the party, Ashley shaded Angel by choosing to bring catfish as her potluck dish. (ICYMI, earlier in the season, Gizelle accused Angel of “catfishing” them by posting social media photos of herself that she said looked nothing like how she did in person.)
Then, Ashley told Angel in front of the group that she was skeptical of the reasons she gave for having to move back to Colorado.
“It’s just hard for me to understand because, as a mom, I know that you’re very on top of it,” Ashley said. “So, to hear that you were confused about the day …Â that’s not something I would see you doing.”
On the RHOP After Show, Angel declared that her friendship with “mean girl” Ashley was done: “I am calling back all the good and kind energy and wishes and intentions that I had for Ashley, because I’m gonna act like she no longer exists.”
