Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Joe Bradley is the first to admit that he did not see Kizzi Kitchener’s engagement coming after Season 10 wrapped.
After all, Joe and Kizzi had given in to all of the rising romantic tension between them and locked lips (again!) during the Below Deck Med finale (more on the below). Though Joe noted his excitement that all their flirting had finally paid off, Kizzi told a producer that the kiss helped her arrive at the “epiphany” that she was “actually in love” with ex Tom Whiteley, instead.
Post-filming, Tom proposed to Kizzi, and Joe shared his reaction to her engagement news in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish.

“I was surprised,” Joe confessed, before revealing where he and Kizzi stand today. “We’re still in contact. We sometimes message each other and laugh with the hate comments we get. People are very passionate.”

On the flip side, Joe revealed that he and Victoria “V” SanJuan, whom he’d romanced before Kizzi, are not still in touch, however.
When asked if he’s currently dating anyone now, Joe simply responded, “Are you kidding me?”
Instead, Season 10’s lead deckhand said he’s currently taking some time off from work (for the first time in his life, he noted) to travel and work on self-improvement, especially after how he saw himself behave on the show.

“Watching the full season back definitely changed my perspective,” Joe explained. “This is the second time my decisions have upset people, and seeing it all laid out made it impossible to ignore. I’ve lived it, I’ve watched it back, and I own that.”
He concluded, “This season showed my flaws as much as my fun side, and I’m genuinely working on becoming better. I’m grateful for the opportunity and for everyone who took the time to watch.”
How Joe Bradley and Kizzi Kitchener ended Below Deck Med Season 10
After Kizzi returned to Bravado with a sprained foot during Below Deck Med‘s Jan. 26 finale, she described Joe as her “knight in shining armor” as he literally carried her around the yacht. With their flirtations mounting, both said that they were finding it increasingly difficult to avoid engaging in PDA.
“I really want to kiss Joe; there’s no point denying it,” Kizzi declared in a confessional. “I broke up with the guy I was seeing so I didn’t leave here with any unanswered questions. On my deathbed, I want to think, ‘Oh, I probably shouldn’t have done that,’ rather than, ‘Oh my god, I wish I did this.'”
So, at the conclusion of the crew’s final night out in Barcelona, Joe and Kizzi finally made out in the back of the vehicle that was transporting them back to the yacht.
“I did kiss Joe in the car,” Kizzi admitted to some of her castmates afterward. “Now that I’ve done it, I’m like, ‘Don’t need to do it again.’ Now, I can go home and get married and never think, ‘What if?'”
By departure day, Joe, meanwhile, had clashed with both V and Nathan, over his handling of the love triangle.
“The feelings that I’m taking away from this boat are so different from last season,” Joe shared with a producer. “Right now, my sole focus is my career and self-growth. I do hope that maybe one day I find a relationship that doesn’t feel scary. I don’t want to be that bad guy that I’ve been in the past. Not forever. But I know I’m the only one to blame.”
