After 10 seasons, Andy Cohen finally met Karen Huger’s son, Brandon, for the first time on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
Prior to Andy sitting down with Karen for a revealing post-prison interview at her family home, Ray Huger introduced Brandon as the “surprise” guest who was waiting in the wings. They exchanged pleasantries, before Andy asked Brandon, “Now, why do you always hide from our cameras?”
Addressing his absence from RHOP, Karen’s son responded, “Why do I always hide? I’m a busy guy, Andy. But I’m glad to be here. I’m glad my mom’s back.”
The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host, meanwhile, seized the rare opportunity to ask Brandon, 38, some more questions about how he coped during Karen’s six months in jail after her DUI conviction.

After confirming that he was worried about his mom, Brandon added, “But I had to take on a lot of responsibility during this time and just be there for her.” He elaborated that he “helped with everything,” including managing Karen’s businesses, finances, and properties, while she was behind bars.
Amid all the extra responsibilities, Brandon also noted that he visited Karen in prison “quite often,” prompting Andy to point out that it “must’ve been quite surreal” seeing his mom in that environment.
“It was tough,” Brandon admitted to Andy. “It was really hard for me, but we got through it.”
Karen, for her part, chimed in that they “had the best time through the glass” during their visits, insisting, “It meant the world.”
How Karen Huger’s family welcomed her home after prison
Earlier on RHOP‘s Season 10 finale, cameras also captured the exact moment that Karen walked through the door of her home and reunited with Ray, her daughter, Rayvin, and her sister, Bridget.
After their emotional group hug, Rayvin complimented Karen’s “fly” look, and she credited her “jailhouse braids” to the friends she made in prison who “took their extensions out of their hair” to help her create the style.

Once they migrated to the living room — which Ray had decked out with a bouquet of flowers, two foil balloons, and a homemade printed “Welcome Home” sign on the fireplace — Karen heaped praise on her family for their support, beginning with her 28-year-old daughter.
“I couldn’t have done it without you,” she told Rayvin. “I love the woman that you’ve become. I never intended for you to see me like that, but I’m glad you did, because there’s a truth and a strength in that.”
Karen also thanked her “little sister” Bridget, saying, “I love you. Mama would be proud of you. You stepped in.”
As for Ray, Karen joked, “I’ll save you for later. It’s been a long road, but I’m good.”
Ray, meanwhile, pointed out that it was “interesting” how much talking they did while Karen was in prison, and she replied, “It was fun dating you through the glass window.”
Karen Huger shared her children’s reaction to her arrest on RHOP
While conversing with Andy, Karen revealed that her children were at the top of her mind, immediately following her September 2025 release from Maryland’s Montgomery County Detention Center.
“It was just about putting my arms around my babies, and I wanted to just spend time with my children and see where they were emotionally,” Karen explained to Andy. “But, yeah, they were just taking care of me and I just, I got sleepy sitting on the chair outside knowing that my babies were OK.”
During their interview, Karen admitted that seeing the police bodycam footage from her March 2024 arrest “literally devastated” her children.
When Andy asked for specifics on what Brandon and Rayvin had said to her, Karen shared, “That it’s time to talk about my addiction. Twenty years ago, they felt that there was a problem. They did, as children, feel that there was a problem.”
Elsewhere in the chat, Karen also cited her quiet moments with Rayvin as the standouts among all the luxuries she went without in prison.
“What I missed most was holding my daughter’s hand,” Karen told Andy. “Rayvin and I are very close.”
