Now that Kyle Richards has revealed that she seriously dated somebody after separating from Mauricio Umansky, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member is shedding new light on why the relationship ended.
On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show for Season 15, Episode 3, Kyle pointed out that, even though the romance is very much “in the past,” she is still “on good terms” with her recent ex.
“It just was bad timing,” Kyle explained. “Our timing just did not match up, you know, and for a multitude of reasons, so… “
When a RHOBH After Show producer asked if she might “revisit that relationship” in the future if (hypothetically) “the timing did work out,” Kyle admitted that she wasn’t sure if there was any chance of a reconciliation.

“I just don’t think that, unfortunately, that our lifestyles and, like I said, the timing were aligned,” she elaborated. “So, a lot would have to change.”
Indeed, Kyle previously revealed on RHOBH that the “public scrutiny” that came along with dating her did not sit well with the person she was in a relationship with.
“All the speculation and the gossip and the talking is what ultimately ended it,” Kyle stated in an Episode 2 confessional. “I could’ve weathered the storm, but this is not for everyone.”

Elsewhere on the After Show, Kyle echoed comments she made on RHOBH‘s Dec. 18 episode about the fears she experienced after she and Mauricio announced their separation in October 2023 after 27 years of marriage.
“What scared me the most about being separated at first was being alone,” she said. “As I get older, am I going to be all alone? And I like this feeling I have right now that I’m no longer afraid of that. And there’s, like, a security in knowing just, like, if it happens, it happens.”

When new castmate Amanda Frances asked about her hopes for the future, Kyle took a brief pause before responding, “I mean, I hope to be in a loving, like, solid relationship soon with somebody, or eventually.”
Even so, the mom of four insisted on leaving her love life up to fate.
“I’m not someone who’s going to chase something,” Kyle added. “It’s not my personality and who I am today. And I think, obviously, that’s because I was with someone for so long and married so long. You know, I’m not going on a dating app, and I will never do a speed dating thing again… Whatever happens, happens.”

After the speed dating portion of Bozoma Saint John’s matchmaking party wrapped during Episode 3, Kyle revealed that she wasn’t actively looking for a new romantic partner. Still, she eventually offered more intel on what she might expect when she chooses to reenter the dating scene.
“I would be looking for a life partner,” she told the ladies. “I want to get married again.”
After “half joking” that she could go for either Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie amid speculation about her sexuality, Kyle continued, “I think gender doesn’t matter. I think it’s like … a soul connection.”
When Boz offered to go back into her contacts list to find more potential matches for her, Kyle playfully shut down the offer, explaining to her fellow diamond holder, “I’m a fate kind of person.”
