A Maryland woman gunned down her husband after she claimed to find photos and messages “indicating” that the man was “having an extramarital affair,” according to police.

Nicole Ward, 50, of Bowie, is accused of telling her husband, Damian Ward, 53, to “pack his bags and leave the house” — prompting the pair to argue further — before she allegedly blasted him with a .357 S&B Magnum revolver, according to charging documents obtained by local Fox affiliate WTTG.

The Prince George’s County Police Department announced Nicole Ward’s arrest in a press release on Monday after the fatal shooting on July 19. Bowie is around 30 miles southwest of Baltimore.

Officers were called to the couple’s home in the 13200 block of Old Chapel Road at 1:45 a.m. and located Damian Ward inside suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during an argument,” PGPD officials said.

According to WTTG, Nicole Ward’s charging documents outline how she allegedly told police that she found photos and messages on a second phone belonging to her husband that sparked the fight. Nicole Ward reportedly told police that the content proved Damian Ward “was having an extramarital affair with another woman.” Details have not been made public about whether Damian Ward responded to the cheating accusations.

Nicole Ward is charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related charges. She was in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status Wednesday, per online court records.
