Woman Arraigned After Shaking Life Out of Boyfriend’s 5-Month-Old Son for Crying – Crime Online

A New York woman was arraigned on murder charges on Friday  — months after she allegedly killed her boyfriend’s 5-month-old son by shaking him.

WWNY reported that Tiara Allen, 26, was watching the infant on July 7 when she got frustrated with him for crying and shook him. The infant — who suffered an anoxic brain injury and subdural hematomas — succumbed to his injuries in August.

According to Law & Crime, Allen admitted to “roughly” changing the baby’s diaper by forcing his legs up. She allegedly claimed the baby became limp and unresponsive after the diaper change.

Allen later told a woman who called the home that a little bit of blood was coming from the infant’s nostril. The woman, whose relationship to Allen was not disclosed, instructed Allen to lay him belly down on her arm and cradle his head to ensure he was not choking, Law & Crime reported.

“I picked up Conway and took my anger out on him and I shouldn’t have. I picked him up with both hands and shook Conway back and forth out of frustration and anger,” Allen allegedly admitted to investigators.

Allen was initially arrested in July on charges of reckless assault of a child and endangering the welfare of a child. On November 17, a St. Lawrence County grand jury charged her with second-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter, first-degree assault, reckless assault of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Though Allen was free on bond following her arrest in July, she was ordered to remain jailed on $250,000 bail following last month’s indictment. WWNY reported that she is due back in court in January.
