A Wisconsin woman was charged last week for allegedly taking sexually explicit photos of a child and sending them online.
In June, a Texas woman reported to police that she discovered child pornography on her boyfriend’s computer. Homeland Security eventually recovered up to 30 illicit pictures that Charlotta Belgum, 37, took of the victim at her home in Appleton, Wisconsin, according to the Appleton Post-Crescent.
The pictures were reportedly sent via text messages and Kik, a messaging app, between December 2021 and June 2022. Investigators reportedly linked the Kik account and phone number involved in these messages to Belgum, who allegedly told local police on January 3 that she met the man on a fetish site.
According to the Appleton Post-Crescent, Belgum also admitted to taking explicit photos of the child and sending them to the man. Authorities also did not publicly name the man Belgum allegedly sent the pictures to.
Last Thursday, Belgum was charged in federal court with producing child pornography. Her connection to the victim was not disclosed.
