Police in Texas are asking the public for help in finding a woman they say attacked two men from behind, landing one in the hospital.
The Houston Police Department shared surveillance video of a female suspect on Wednesday. Officials say she stabbed a man at around 10:55 a.m. on Dec. 9 and assaulted another man at around 2:20 p.m. on Dec. 14.
“The suspect is described as a Hispanic female in her early 40s,” police said in a statement. “She is about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. The female has short black hair worn in a bun.”
Police described the attacks as random.
“On December 9, a male victim, 63, stated he was walking on Bettis Drive – in an alley way behind a business – when a female suspect armed with a knife approached him from behind and stabbed him in the face for no apparent reason,” the police statement said. “The victim said the suspect walked away without saying anything.”
The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said.
A second victim said that the attacker also aimed for his head.
“On December 14, a male victim, 30, stated he was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot at 4323 San Felipe Street when he was struck on the right side of his head by a sharp object carried by a female suspect who approached him from behind,” the statement said. “The female walked away without saying anything.”
The man was treated at the scene for his injury.
A police spokesperson told Law&Crime on Thursday that the matter is still an active investigation and there are no other known victims.
Anyone with information on the identity of the wanted female is urged to contact the HPD Major Assaults Division at 713-308-8800 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
