A woman in Broward County, Florida, allegedly lashed out at a small poodle in at least several acts of violence, culminating her striking the dog and the canine being found in a nearby trash can.
Shacoria Pulliam, 30, is charged with cruelty to animals and remains at the local jail on a $25,000 bond.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department identified the slain dog as Snowball, a “small mixed poodle breed,” according to Miami ABC affiliate WPLG.
Officers reportedly said that Pulliam’s male housemate in the Durrs neighborhood describerd seeing her “agitated,” yelling and screaming at the family dog. The defendant allegedly later punched Snowball in both the head and body.
This caused the dog to “yelp as if she was in pain,” cops said.
The man said he intervened and put Snowball in her crate.
Later than night, however, he found Pulliam beating Snowball with a frying pan, authorities claim.
The defendant, who neighbors described as a “heavy drug user,” kicked Snowball out the door, officers reportedly wrote.
That was the last day anyone saw the dog alive.
On Sept. 1, the housemate found the dog’s body decomposing in a trash can at the side of the apartment, officers wrote. The necropsy ruled the cause of death to be blunt force trauma.
Pulliam has no attorney of record.
