A Georgia Walmart employee opened fire inside the store Friday night, killing a 19-year-old man and wounding a 9-year-old girl.
Fayetteville Police identified the suspect as Adrian Jelks, 19, and said he fled the scene in in a vehicle that was later found abandoned, WAGA reported.
Antavius Holton, 19, was the target of the shooting and died from his injuries, according to police, who said the little girl was hit by a “stray” bullet. She is expected to survive.
“The juvenile victim at this time we believe was an innocent bystander and was just hit by a stray bullet being fired by the suspect.” Fayetteville Police Chief Scott Gray said.
Police identified Jelks as the suspect through surveillance video and his coworkers.
On Saturday, police announced the arrest of Sandra Romero Nunez, 19, on charges of party to the crimes of murder and aggravated assault.
Jelks is still at large, wanted for murder and aggravated assault. He is considered armed and dangerous, and police asked anyone with information to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 770-461-4357.
