SAN JOSE, Calif. (TCD) — Police have arrested two men on suspicion of killing a victim whose body was found inside a recreational vehicle last week.
On Jan. 11 at around 10:50 p.m., patrol officers from the San Jose Police Department responded to a report of a possible dead body near the area of Kruse Drive and Montague Expressway, where they found a deceased male.
“Due to the level of decomposition, it was not evident at the scene that the death was the result of foul play,” police said.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office contacted officers on Jan. 17 and said the victim had suffered physical trauma, and his death was ruled a homicide. According to the East Bay Times, the victim reportedly died of a gunshot wound to his torso and a head injury.
Further investigation revealed Marco Espinoza and Michael Anaya allegedly killed the man, and police obtained warrants for their arrests.
Officers located and arrested the suspects on Jan. 19. They were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of homicide. They each remain held without bail.
Investigators are looking into a possible motive.
Police said the Santa Clara County Coroner’s office will release the victim’s name after positively identifying him and notifying next of kin.
