A 70-year-old Florida man allegedly rolled the body of a man who was shot to death down the street in a trash bin before fleeing the scene on a moped.
Danny Barbee is charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
Miami police officers responded around 11 p.m. Sunday to the area of NW 14th Avenue and NW 59th Street after someone found a body in a garbage can, a probable cause arrest affidavit stated.
The man who found the body said four people on bicycles told him there was a dead person in the bin. He called police after seeing the body himself. The dead man, wearing boxer shorts and a T-shirt, was face down in the bin in a “folded manner,” with gunshot wounds to the face.

Officers reviewed surveillance footage that showed a man in a “high-visibility shirt” rolling the bin down the street. He then fled on a moped, police said.
Cops searched the area and found blood droplets in front of a home in the 1400 block of NW 59th Street, not far from where they recovered the body.
After obtaining a search warrant, police entered the home where they found a shell casing and apparent blood spatter on the ceiling in the living room, according to the affidavit. It also appeared that the bedroom had been “wiped down” in an effort to destroy evidence, cops wrote.
Investigators identified Barbee as the person who allegedly moved the trash bin and took him into custody.
In an interview with police, Barbee said he went to the home in question to visit a woman he knew as “Gang Gang.” A man who he did not know came looking for the victim, who was in the bedroom. Barbee said the two started arguing and the unidentified man shot the victim once. The unidentified man then grabbed the trash bin from outside, the affidavit stated.
According to Barbee, the unidentified man stuffed the victim — who was still alive at the time — into the bin, grabbed a pillow and fired two shots into the bin, cops wrote. Barbee said “Gang Gang” told him to remove the body, so he did, according to the affidavit.
Cops have yet to identify the shooter or name the victim. They arrested Barbee and took him to the Miami-Dade Jail, where he remains on a $15,000 bond. His court date is not listed.
