A home renovation can often be an emotional rollercoaster. Although some consider the change to be quite exciting, the decision-making, manual labor, and inevitable roadblocks can often lead to overwhelming frustration and exhaustion. This was further proven by Naomie Olindo, who is in the early stages of an ambitious house restoration.
On Sunday, August 17, the Southern Charm alum took to Instagram to share the recent upgrade to her historic Charleston abode. She began by posting a photo of her relatively bare dining room, which had masking tape on the hardwood floors.
“Let’s paint!” she captioned the picture.

Naomie proceeded to whitewash her flooring before making an all-over diamond pattern with the masking tape. She didn’t reveal how long it took to create the outlines, but said the process was far from easy.
“This was so mf hard,” she wrote in a subsequent post.

The following Story showed Naomie using a paint roller over the floor. Although it was clearly a tedious and time-consuming task, she managed to keep everything clean and tidy — and that included her painting clothes.
“Not one drop of paint on my [Lake pajamas],” she captioned another Story, which highlighted her dining room lighting fixture from Carolina Lanterns.

While the painting project was difficult at times, the finished product was nothing short of stunning. Naomie showed off the results in an August 17 Instagram.
“Next up: table + drapes,” she wrote.
The image showed a white and beige checkered pattern on the dining room floor. The update was definitely eye-catching, but its neutral color combination kept it from clashing with the home’s classic Southern aesthetic.

Naomie purchased the Charleston home in late 2024, nearly 150 years after it was built. She told fans she wanted to revive the property’s old-school charm, so she enlisted the help of South Carolina architect Justin Feit and architectural historian Brittany V. Lavelle Tull.
“I am sooooo excited to start this renovation,” she wrote in a recent Instagram Q&A. “And so happy to be working with [Justin] and [Brittany] to restore her to her former 1881 glory!”

In between her home upgrade projects, Naomie has remained busy with her L’abeye fashion brand; romantic getaways with her boyfriend, Billy Haire; and their recently expanded pet family.
Back in July, the couple introduced the world to their new dog, Gus, a foster fail that they immediately fell in love with. The four-legged friend joined Naomie’s longtime cat, Omlete, and her Labrador retriever, Olive.
The former Southern Charm-er said she was “obsessed” with her fur babies, but wasn’t thrilled with the mess they’ve caused in her new home.
“My house is WRECKED,” she captioned a photo of her disheveled bedroom. “Came home to this the other night. We start training September 2nd with [Bark Busters of Charleston]. We need -boundaries-.”
