Carl Radke’s Soft Bar Celebrates at Soft Opening in Brooklyn

Carl Radke’s Soft Bar + Café is one step closer to permanently opening its doors. The Summer House entrepreneur welcomed friends and family into the Greenpoint café for the first preview of the non-alcoholic-centric business on Aug. 27.

Carl, who is four years sober, spoke with People ahead of the soft opening in Brooklyn, where he opened up about the new space, which has been his passion project for more than a year. “Soft Bar is really about changing what going out can be,” he explained. “We wanted to build a spot where the drinks are high-quality and intentionally crafted, the vibe feels good, and people can connect without alcohol. At the end of the day, it’s about bringing people together and celebrating unique flavors.”

Kyle Cooke attended the soft opening and took to his Instagram Story that evening, where he reported from the outside of the non-alcoholic bar and café. “It’s the soft opening of soft openings,” he exclaimed in the video. “That’s right, we are at Soft Bar’s soft opening.”

Kyle then proceeded to show off the inside of the bar from the second floor, displaying the bright green countertops, unique light fixtures, and built-in shelving. He later posed for a photo with Carl and his mom, Sharon Radke.

Carl also re-posted several photos from the soft opening, including a photo of a drink from the menu. He also re-posted a photo of himself, standing in the middle of Soft Bar, showing off his pride and joy.

Summer House‘s Jesse Solomon showed his support for Carl at the event by taking a picture with the proud co-owner. “Congrats to my brother [Carl Radke] on his beautiful new space,” he wrote over the photo.

Several of Carl’s friends showed their support for Carl on Instagram, in addition to showing up for the soft opening. Carl posted a video tour of Soft Bar to the social media platform on Aug. 27, showing off the brand-new space.

His friends then took to the comments to congratulate him. “This place is absolutely stunning — congrats brother!” Kyle wrote.

“This is amazing congratulations!!!” Paige DeSorbo added.
