Given her excitement over scoring a last-minute invitation, Galyna Saltkovska’s unexplained absence from Jesse McBee and Alli Ventresca’s wedding on the Season 2 finale of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys immediately raised alarm bells for Steven McBee Jr.
Then, as the bride and groom posed for family photos around him, he got the dreaded confirmation in a phone call from Galyna’s daughter, Erena Chaples:Â “She was in a car accident. I don’t know what happened.”
Behind the scenes, the show’s production team had been equally in the dark and quickly sprang into action, according to Kathleen French, Senior Vice President of Entertainment Unscripted Current Production at NBCUniversal.
“We didn’t know either,” she revealed in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, noting that the accident occurred “just miles” away from the wedding venue. “Producers jumped in the car. They drove over there… and they captured it all in real time — including her coming home that night.”

How McBee Dynasty‘s producers captured Galyna’s arrestÂ
Having used Galyna’s GPS to locate her, the production team arrived at the scene to discover her wrecked Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon being loaded onto a tow truck. What viewers eventually saw on screen encompassed a mix of footage from officer bodycams and producer cameras, as the McBee Farm & Cattle Co. CFO was subsequently handcuffed and taken into police custody.
Images of Galyna’s dramatic arrest and placement in a jail cell were juxtaposed with those of the jubilant wedding celebration taking place down the road, making for what Kathleen called one of The McBee Dynasty‘s most iconic episodes.
As she put it, “I thought that the combination of this beautiful wedding — the first of the sons getting married, just how happy everyone was — intercut with the Galyna arrest was spectacular.”
Why was Galyna Saltkovska arrested?
As seen on The McBee Dynasty‘s Sept. 1 episode, a police officer on the scene informed an uninjured Galyna that she was “under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.” However, the officer later said she had decided to “not pursue” those charges and released Galyna from jail.
According to Erena, Galyna walked away with a ticket for “reckless driving.”

At the scene of the accident, Galyna first told an officer that she was “fine,” but had experienced a “nervous breakdown” while driving to Jesse and Alli’s wedding.
After returning home to Erena, the mother-daughter duo had a tearful heart-to-heart, during which Galyna said she was “disappointed” that she let her “anxieties” get the best of her.Â

“Driving there, I was so worried about the wedding … just overthinking,” Galyna added in a confessional, noting that she worried that ex Steve McBee Sr.’s new girlfriend (and her former friend) Masha could unexpectedly show up, despite not being invited. “The next thing I remember is seeing the broken window in my car.”
An emotional Erena, meanwhile, was incensed that Galyna seemed more concerned with missing the McBee wedding than the car accident itself, telling her, “I don’t know what I would do without you. They have everyone; I don’t have anyone. … Your family is right here.”
After the 23 year old encouraged her mom to make some major life changes, Galyna admitted in a producer interview that she “f–ked up” by not being “more aware” of how her behavior was affecting her daughter.
“There is no excuse for a lot of my actions,” she conceded, before cryptically stating, “It may be time to cut ties and move on from the McBee family.”
As a post-finale update revealed, however, Galyna still works for the McBees. She has “moved on” from Steve Sr., however, and is beginning to date again.
