A South Carolina high school teacher who resigned last month in the midst of an investigation into inappropriate relationships with students now faces 24 counts of sexual battery of student.
The new charges relate to another victim, investigators told WHNS.
Micah Keith Lanford was initially charged with eight counts last month shortly after his resignation from Boiling Springs High School in Spartanburg County, as CrimeOnline reported.
Lanford was denied bond at the time, WHNS reported. This week, 16 more charges were filed, and investigators said they related to another victim but provided no further information.
Deputies said the case is still under investigation and more charges are possible. They asked that anyone with more information — including other possible victims — contact Michelle James at 864-415-4508.
