New York police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman in a Queens apartment building after her fiance reported finding her body in the hallway.
Sources told The New York Post that the 49-year-old man also said he spoke with her about three hours before findiing her body around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday — but the body of the 48-year-old woman showed signs of decomposition that would indicate her death came some 12 hours before that.
The woman was pronounced dead on the scene after her boyfriend reported finding her on the first floor of her building in the Ridgewood neighborhood. The body showed no visible signs of trauma, the sources said, but the decomposition made the timing suspect.
The medical examiner’s office is conducting an autopsy to determine cause of death.
