A Florida woman expecting her DoorDash food order instead found two children abandoned outside her apartment, authorities say.

Ezra Anthony Tyson, 24, faces two counts of child neglect.

According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, the woman said she heard a knock at her Jacksonville apartment around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. She had ordered food to be delivered to her home.

But when she opened the door, she instead saw two children alone. She looked around for an adult but did not find anyone in the area, cops said. The DoorDash delivery driver arrived and said he saw a man running away.

The woman knows the children’s mother but did not expect them to be dropped off at her home. She was unsure how Tyson got her address.

Cops reviewed doorbell camera footage that allegedly showed him knocking, then leaving the kids.

Deputies found Tyson at a business in the 5600 block of Norwood Avenue, and Tyson claimed the people at the apartment knew he was leaving the kids, the affidavit said.

The children’s mother also accused Tyson of assaulting her on Oct. 1. She said she took an Uber with their two kids to drop them off at his home, the affidavit said. She did not get out of the car because of “past altercations.”

But Tyson allegedly opened the door of the car and pulled her hair, ripping out one of her braids.

A witness allegedly told Tyson to stop and tried to pull him away.

Asked about the allegations, Tyson told cops “that’s bulls—” and said he did not touch the children’s mother. Cops arrested him on an allegation of domestic battery in addition to the child neglect counts.

Tyson was arrested on Oct. 18 and taken to the Duval County Jail, where he has since posted bond. His next court date is set for Nov. 12.
