Alabama Man Arrested for Threats Against ‘Multiple Synagogues’ – Crime Online

An Alabama man was arrested Monday night after law enforcement was notified he made “credible threats of violence against multiple synagogues throughout Alabama and surrounding states.”

A search warrant was conducted on the home of Jeremy Wayne Shoemaker in Needham, and he was taken into custody. Authorities also seized weapons, “more than a suitcase full of ammo, and body armor and other items related to “plans of violence.”

“Further investigation revealed that the subject had intentions of not being taken alive and was possibly planning attacks on public figures as well,” the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office said that Shoemaker will face local charges of resisting arrest and certain persons forbidden. The investigation is ongoing, the agency said, and multiple federal charges are likely.
