Tamra Judge Details Reunion With Daughter Sidney Barney

After dealing with some heavy emotions on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Tamra Judge finally had some happy news to report at Season 19’s Reunion Part 1.

Host Andy Cohen brought up how Tamra and her estranged daughter, Sidney Barney, “saw each other recently,” before asking her to share more details.

As Tamra explained, Sidney had stopped by her and Eddie Judge’s home because she had lunch plans with her other daughter, Sophia Barney. “I went outside, and, um, we hugged. We talked about life for about 30 minutes,” Tamra revealed, describing Sidney as being “very sweet.”

As she told the reunion story, Tamra became increasingly emotional and eventually broke into tears.

“And then she said, ‘Mom, can I hug you goodbye?’ And she hugged me, and I just held onto her for so long,” Tamra continued. “And I just said, ‘I can’t let you go. I just can’t let you go.’ And it was just a really, really special moment.”

After the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host replied, “I bet,” Tamra optimistically added, “I think she’s coming around.”

What Tamra Judge said about daughter Sidney Barney in therapy

During the RHOC Season 19 premiere, Tamra took viewers inside her therapy session, where one of the several “heavy” topics she began to unpack involved her estrangement from Sidney.

“The custody battle that my ex put me through, my daughter leaving me… It’s hard,” she admitted in a confessional, referencing ex-husband Simon Barney. 

While in session, the therapist asked Tamra — whose goals were to stop being “so responsive, impulsive, explosive, and harsh with [her] words” — if she associated “feeling misunderstood” with Sidney.

“Yeah, she just never even really gave me a chance,” Tamra (who’s also mom to sons Spencer Barney and Ryan Vieth) responded. “And most the time I can bury it.”

In another producer interview that aired on Episode 4, Tamra reminded viewers of exactly how long she’d been estranged from Sidney, while discussing her fears about Sophia striking out on her own.

“Sidney moved out when she was 14, and she never came back,” Tamra said. “I know that if Sophia moves out, it’s not forever.  But because of what I went through with Sidney, I worry that Sophia is going to leave me. I’m worried that she’ll never talk to me again.”

How Gretchen Rossi got involved in Tamra Judge’s relationship with Sidney

Tamra claimed to Heather Dubrow in the second episode of RHOC Season 19 that Gretchen Rossi had been “contacting” Sidney.

“Sidney posted something about me, and Gretchen started communicating with her,” Tamra elaborated in a confessional, while an image of her Facebook post flashed on the screen. “That is one of the lowest, most disgusting things you can do: involve somebody’s child.”

When Tamra and Gretchen came face to face for the first time in 12 years at Katie Ginella’s hot pot lunch in the same episode, a heated argument ensued about whether or not commenting on a social media post could be considered actual contact.

“It’s not the same thing,” Gretchen insisted. “You really wanna play this game? Because it’s not the same thing. I made a comment on a public Facebook post that your daughter made.”

Tamra, meanwhile, went on to allege that Simon had actually written the post, to which Gretchen fired back, “That’s what you always do. You always blame it on somebody else. Your daughter even came out after you said that and said, ‘My mom is lying. This is my account. I made the post.'”

Tamra maintained that Gretchen’s claim was “not true,” however.
