After years of being single, Lala Kent has become more “open” to the concept of dating. The Vanderpump Rules alum explained her new mindset in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, insisting she had not closed the door on finding romance.
Lala Kent says she hasn’t given up on finding a “good man”
“Oh my goodness. I am talking to men,” she said during BravoCon 2025. “I used to hate the word dating, because I’m like, it seems there’s potential when you use the word dating. And there’s not. I have recently said, you know, I’m choosing my peace. But with that can come a good man. So I have given it up to the universe and said, ‘OK, I’m open to dating.’ And we’ll see what happens.”
The Valley newbie made similar comments in an August episode of her podcast series, saying she intentionally kept things casual when communicating with guys and made sure her language always reflected that. She told the special guest, comedian Jared Freid, she preferred the term “talking” over “dating” because the former suggested lower stakes.

“I like ‘talking’ better. I’m literally sweating because I’ve never talked about this at all,” she said. “I have gone about life saying, ‘I don’t date right now. I don’t talk to anybody. Everything is very casual.’ It’s a lot of pressure, especially for women who start getting older; they want it to work out… So to come home and home again to be like, ‘Oh, it didn’t work out with this one, it didn’t work out with that one,’ I think that we are programmed to think that others are going, ‘What’s wrong with you that none of this is working out?’”

Lala went on to say that her biggest concerns were commitment and trust, as she was convinced that infidelity was inevitable for most couples. But it seems the mother of two has become much less cynical about relationships and the idea of finding the right guy.

“I’m looking for someone who’s just gentle and sweet — tall, dark, and handsome, obviously,” she told The Daily Dish before referencing her daughters, 4-year-old Ocean Kent Emmett and 1-year-old Sosa Kent. “Someone who cares about my kids. Even if it’s just asking about them since they’re a huge part of my life. And I don’t introduce my kids to just anybody. And it’ll be a gut feeling. My gut will tell me when it’s right… Moms know.”
