The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Porsha Williams is breaking new ground with her girlfriend, Patrice “Sway” McKinney. After hard-launching their relationship around Thanksgiving, the two are going strong into Christmas.
Recently, Patrice took to Instagram while visiting a grocery store, showing the holiday crowds checking out and bagging their items. “Yes, yes, the McKinney takeover,” Patrice said in the video while wearing a red Santa Claus hat, to which Porsha shared and wrote, “Such a blessing,” with praying hands and a red heart emoji.
As seen on the salon founder’s Instagram page, the “Patrice McKinney Foundation” had the entrepreneur visiting Atlanta-area stores and giving away money to unsuspecting shoppers for the holiday season. Under one of several Instagram videos capturing one heartwarming moment after the other, Porsha wrote, “It really touches our heart seeing you give to random strangers for Christmas. You have such a big heart, and I truly believe you’ll be blessed for paying it forward.”
Later, the couple shared Porsha’s first time cooking a roast with green beans and rolls. “Dinner for Bae … after a long day,” Porsha wrote, including up-close videos of her browning the meat in a skillet. Patrice wrote over the post, “I love a home cooked meal.”

Porsha opened up about the origins of her relationship with Patrice in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, explaining they’d originally connected on Instagram “over eight years ago.” Unfortunately, the pair lost contact once Patrice started a new Instagram account, said the The Pursuit of Porsha author.

“Her page looked totally different, so I didn’t connect the two,” Porsha explained. “But, I was still connected to her and her spirit, so I was like, ‘Boom.’ Click another like. You know what I mean? And then we ended up connecting in the DMs, and kind of from there I met her with [my sister] Lauren [Williams], and we had some drinks, we had a good time.”
Porsha, who shares 6-year-old daughter Pilar Jhena “PJ” McKinley with ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley, stated she was taking things “a little slow” in this relationship and not putting too much pressure on what they have.
“I’m just doing what feels natural,” she told the outlet. “I really wanted to explore that side of Porsha, and I’m glad I did because I’m really happy. I feel really good about where I am, and my family is very supportive of it.”

Porsha teased she was dating a man and a woman during an Oct. 5 CultureCon panel, the announcement coming four months after her divorce from Simon Guobadia was finalized. The mom of one later said at BravoCon 2025 that she had dipped “a toe or two” in what Andy Cohen called “the lady pond.”

On the Nov. 17 panel, Porsha said, “I hope that this could be something, but we’ll see,” declining to reveal the identity of her mystery person. Then, on Nov. 28, the day after Thanksgiving, the pair went Instagram official.
“Thanksgiving came around, she was like, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna cater,’ and I was like, ‘You know, me, too,’” Porsha told Entertainment Tonight. “We were coming back from Miami, and I was like, ‘Let’s just do it together!’ So we did. We got our families together. We had a bomb Thanksgiving. When I tell you, we had a ball — we were karaoke-ing, playing games, eating good food. It just all felt good.”
