Gizelle Bryant is opening up about whether or not she would date another pastor following her divorce from her ex-husband, Jamal Bryant. The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member was married to the pastor for seven years prior to their 2009 divorce and even tried dating each other in the years after before they split again.

But, according to Gizelle, she has given up pastors for good in order to pursue her own interests. “At this time in my life, I need to live my life,” she said during an Oct. 22 appearance on The Breakfast Club. “You’re not going to put me in a box or package.”
She continued, saying that she is happy being her own person and not being tied down to the title of “pastor’s wife” or “pastor’s girlfriend.” “Gizelle is out here living Gizelle, whatever that means,” she said.

Gizelle also opened up about her experience being the first lady of a church. “It is isolating,” she said during her appearance. “There is a perception of perfection, and I don’t want to say you have to lean into it, but they are very much looking up to you.”
She continued, “They’re very much picking apart your life, a little bit like reality TV. You do want to be able to be your full self, and as a first lady of a Black church, I don’t think you can be your full self to your congregation. You’re gonna get judged. You’re gonna get picked apart. People gonna leave. You don’t want that; you don’t want to do that to your husband’s congregation. You want them to stay.”

Where does Gizelle Bryant stand with Jamal Bryant today?
Gizelle and Jamal have remained friends, as they work to co-parent their three daughters, Grace, Adore, and Angel Bryant. “Jamal and I are best of friends as we’ve always been [with] co-parenting [and] all of that,” she said during a Nov. 2022 appearance on Good Morning Washington. “I mean, I just feel like I’m at a great place in my life, personally.”

Yes, Gizelle is currently dating. Gizelle spoke with Bravo Insider ahead of the premiere of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls’ Trip: Roaring 20th earlier this year, where she opened up about the status of her relationships. Although Gizelle did not share the identities of who she is seeing, she admitted that she is not lonely. “Gizelle’s dating. Well, no, I’m lying. Not super dating,” she said. “What I’m doing is, I’m spending time with friends with benefits. So we keep them on the inside. We don’t bring ’em outside.”
