Chad Ollinger, a former reality star on Discovery Channel’s show, “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch,” has been charged with open murder.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, authorities at the Clark County Detention Center found a man “lying motionless inside a cell,” on Friday.
“Officers made entry and observed the inmate was suffering from apparent blunt force injuries,” a Vegas police press release stated.
Investigators later discovered that Ollinger, 41, and a cellmate got into an altercation. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to News Channel 10, police in Texas arrested Ollinger in Amarillo in November 2024, after he ran a red light and evaded arrest.
“All I know is this one thing,” Ollinger previously told TMZ. “It was a hell of a ride until I got off of that Harley crossbone.”
After posting bond, police near Pampa, Texas, arrested Ollinger for driving 10% or more over the limit, and driving with an invalid license while having previous convictions.
Then, in October, police arrested Ollinger on a contempt of court charge.
A Potter County grand jury indicted him in January. A judge sentenced on the contempt charge in December, with a scheduled release for January 2026.
Meanwhile, People magazine reports that Ollinger’s father, Duane Ollinger, owns the Blind Frog Ranch in Utah.
The murder investigation is ongoing.
