CVS Employee Stabbed to Death in Botched Robbery – Crime Online

A man fatally stabbed a Long Island CVS employee on Thursday and then fled the store on foot.

John Pilaccio, 43, was arrested the next day and charged with second degree murder, WABC reported.

According to News12, Edeedson Cine, 23, was filling in for a friend on the night of the attack.

Prosecutors said in court on Saturday that Pilaccio admitted stabbing Cine, saying he was in debt and intended to rob the store but Cine would not cooperate.

Witnesses and surveillance video captured Pilaccio walking around the store before “violently lunging at [Cine] with a knife and stabbing him in the chest,” Law&Crime reported. Then he jumped over the counter and continued stabbing Cine before fleeing.

Cine was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he died, WABC said.

In court, the killer’s attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf, News12 said. He was ordered held without bail and is due back in court on Wednesday.
