As Kyle Cooke unpacked the many stressors in his and Amanda Batula’s strained marriage on Summer House, he made a shocking pre-split revelation about the financial status of Loverboy.
During a visit to Carl Radke’s apartment on Season 10, Episode 2, Kyle shared that he’d been experiencing “so much anxiety” over the last couple days, following a tense first weekend in the Hamptons with Amanda.Â
“I’m not looking, like, to make excuses, but I think it stemmed from me going into the weekend realizing how much pressure I’m under with Loverboy,” Kyle said, referring to his alcohol brand.
He elaborated, “I know I’m busy. It’s just, like, when I’m catching up with you and I’m catching up with friends, I’m not gonna unload on them weekend one and just be like, ‘Oh by the way, to save my business, I had to put $500,000 in. Oh, by the way, I stopped paying myself a salary at Loverboy, so that’s one of the reasons I started DJ’ing, to pay the bills.’ But that’s what I’ve been up to these last couple months.”

After confirming to Carl that he hadn’t taken a salary for roughly nine months at that point, Kyle shared even more intel in a producer interview.
“In the last six months, we’ve actually seen a decline in distribution, which means declines in revenue,” he explained. “So, I stopped taking a salary at Loverboy to kind of prolong our cash reserves.”
How Kyle Cooke related Loverboy’s “decline” led to issues with Amanda Batula
As Kyle saw it, his tense Fourth of July weekend with Amanda was symptomatic of some larger marital issues that had been brewing between them.
“I used to incur costs traveling for Loverboy; now I’m getting paid,” he added on Summer House‘s Feb. 10 episode. “I get that I decided to travel a lot and DJ, and I get that I work a lot, but when I do make an effort with Amanda, I don’t really feel like it’s reciprocated. And it’s eating me alive.”
Amid them navigating their newly contrasting lifestyles, Kyle described how Amanda was giving him “the cold shoulder at every given moment,” before underscoring how “that stuff takes a toll” on him.

“We’re not, like, on the brink of collapse. Like, I adore her, I love her, I can’t even imagine my life without her,” he insisted to Carl. “But I think what is messing with my head is just, like, the way she talks about the status quo. She still pushes a lot of responsibility of our issues on me. It’s like, ‘Oh, look at Kyle, he’s just, like, drunk and DJ’ing and traveling.”
As Kyle concluded, “It kind of gets reduced down to something that is not recognizable as to what’s actually going on, but I’m not gonna sit there and correct her.”
Why Amanda Batula was not “supportive” of Kyle Cooke’s career pivot
Elsewhere in NYC, Amanda echoed her comments from the Season 10 premiere about why she was “not 100 percent supportive” of Kyle’s career pivot to DJ’ing.
“There’s a part of me that’s really happy that he’s found this creative outlet of, like, DJ’ing,” Amanda explained during a meetup with Ciara Miller and Lindsay Hubbard. “But there’s another part of me that’s pissed off that the two things I’ve asked him to change about himself for years are his drinking and his going out late. The career he chose was, like, to do two things that I’ve been asking him to change forever.”
As Amanda pointed out, Kyle’s late nights of DJ’ing and “partying,” led to “constant rumors” about his behavior. She specifically called out one instance from February 2025 when she said Kyle “fell asleep at some, like, fan’s apartment” during a house party and did not return home until 6:30 in the morning.
“It’s been, like, 10 years of some of this s–t,” Amanda told Ciara and Lindsay. “Like, I can’t be doing this forever. Or he can’t be doing this forever, and I can’t be putting up with it forever.”
