Jax Taylor is entering a “new chapter” in his life with a new move amid his divorce from Brittany Cartwright. The Valley alum recently revealed that he is moving out of his home and into a brand-new place, and is sharing some new details about this latest era in his life.

Jax took to Instagram on Feb. 17, where he posted a Reel documenting his moving process from his townhouse. Although he did not reveal where he’s moving to, it’s clear that he will no longer be living next to his friend, Tom Schwartz. In the video, Jax can be seen loading boxes onto the moving truck, documenting the movers packing away his furniture, and capturing Tom as he waved at him from the window of his own place and hugged him goodbye. Jax made sure to pack away some very important pieces, like a Vanderpump Rules poster and a framed photo of his son, Cruz Cauchi.
“New chapter,” Jax wrote in the caption of the post, noting that his movers helped make everything “smooth and stress-free” for him. “Here’s to new beginnings.”
He also took to his Instagram Story, where he posted a photo of himself leaning on some moving boxes. “All done,” he captioned the snapshot. The move also comes several months after he confirmed his exit from The Valley following Season 2 in 2025.

Jax had originally moved into his townhouse in September 2024, sharing a wall with Tom, who lived next door to him. During an appearance on The Valley After Show in Season 2, Jax admitted that having Tom nearby was so helpful amid his divorce and sobriety journey. “I’m lonely. I don’t know how to deal with this,” Jax said. “I’m sober now. I need to be close to friends that can help pick me up. I feel like if I was alone, I would be struggling a little bit.”

Tom Schwartz reveals why he was “worried” about his living situation with Jax Taylor
Tom, however, was worried about the “optics” of living so close to Jax. But, Tom, who is confirmed as a cast member on The Valley Season 3, was proven wrong. “Honestly, though, it’s been great,” he said during The Valley After Show last season.
“I’ve protected my peace, there’s a healthy boundary that he respects — we respect,” Tom noted. “He’s never pounding on my wall, he’s not pounding on my door.”

Although Jax has moved, Brittany will be not be moving, and will be staying put at her house in the Valley. Brittany appeared on an episode of Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey in January 2026, where she revealed that this is because of her career and her son with Jax, who has his own routine established in California. “You know, he’s settled in with this stuff right now; I got to keep him kind of on the same routine,” she said.
“I definitely want to buy a house in Kentucky soon because I love to go back and visit,” Brittany said of her home state. “But this is, like, where my opportunities are…The Valley is going great, my podcast is doing great, Cruz is in great therapies and stuff. So yeah, we’re not going to be moving any time soon.”
Why did Jax Taylor leave The Valley?
In July 2025, Jax confirmed his departure from The Valley after Season 2. “After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” he said in a statement at the time. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz.”
