N.Y.C. man beaten to death outside sex shop

NEW YORK (TCN) — A 25-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly beating a victim to death following an argument in an adult store.

WABC reports that according to police, the 60-year-old victim, identified by amNY as Lawrence Parente, was arguing with Imani McColley inside the Rainbow Station adult store on Oct. 11. According to an employee, McColley allegedly got angry when he was denied entry to the establishment’s basement club.

The two men went outside, and the argument reportedly got physical. Colley allegedly knocked Parente to the ground and kicked and stomped on his head multiple times before fleeing, according to WABC. amNY reports Colley allegedly took Parente’s wallet before he left the scene. 

Parente was taken to a hospital for treatment and was later pronounced dead, according to WABC. 

McColley, whom police say has a criminal history including five prior arrests, allegedly returned to the scene, where he was taken into custody. Officer.com reports police say McColley allegedly left his cellphone at the scene and returned to retrieve it.

WABC reports McColley was charged with murder and two counts of robbery.
