The Shahs of Sunset alum spoke to The Daily Dish in January 2026, where she revealed that there is “no way” that she has even thought about dating during her divorce. “It’s extremely raw and very new, everything that has happened. I just can’t,” she admitted. She continued, noting that she wants to put her focus and attention on her and Tommy’s 6-year-old son, Shams Francis Feight. “I think I’m gonna be a celibate monk or like, wait until Shams is like 35,” she added. “How old would that make me… a hundred something?”
“I would still be in my 70’s, I guess, we’d be OK,” she added.
Mercedeh took to her podcast, Till the Dirt, on Jan. 22, where she admitted that she couldn’t “imagine” being with “another person, at all.” “Like, not even a one-night stand,” she said during the episode. “The only person Shams is going to see me around is going to be Tommy.”

Prior to meeting Tommy on Tinder in 2016, Mercedeh had been on dating apps, searching for the one. But Mercedeh admitted on her podcast that she now wants to date “no time soon.” “But I do know who I want to date and that is myself,” she said. “I want to date my career.”
“I want to date my son. I want to date my house,” she added. “This is all about like, me needing and wanting to date the best version of myself.”

Mercedeh Javid opens up about filing for divorce from Tommy Feight
Mercedeh opened up about her divorce when speaking with The Daily Dish, where she admitted that there was a “specific moment” where she felt like her relationship with Tommy was over. “I felt like on the 4th of July I might have hit my last straw,” she said.
“Filing was a choice out of self-preservation and self-worth, that’s what that move was,” she explained. “You can choose that and love someone at the same time and prioritize your baby boy, which we’re both doing really well. I’m really impressed with how well we’re handling this new chapter.”

Mercedeh Javid is “still processing” her separation from Tommy Feight
The Valley: Persian Style Season 1 has captured fights between Mercedeh and Tommy, leading to the dissolution of their marriage. But, she admitted to The Daily Dish that seeing these fights on screen hasn’t been the easiest thing for her. “Those scenes are hard to watch, but I also lived it a lot, and I love him very much, and I think that the love is always there, but it’s hard to watch, too. I’m still processing it,” she said.
