What Happened With Ben Waddell and Dara Levitan in His Room?

Summer House newbie Dara Levitan has officially entered the chat amid swirling rumors about her allegedly spending time in Ben Waddell’s bedroom.

The disputed interaction between Dara and Ben had occurred earlier on Season 10, before reemerging during Episode 8, as her new romance with KJ Dillard heated up. As KJ geared up to welcome Dara back to the Hamptons for the weekend, Lindsay Hubbard spilled the tea that she’d heard from Bailey Taylor.

After getting in his head about the claim that Dara had spent an hour in Ben’s room during an earlier costume party, KJ eventually brought the speculation to her attention.

Dara’s response? “That’s not true,” she insisted. “I literally was in Ben’s room because I put my stuff in there. I changed, and I came right back out. … That just actually, like, factually never happened. If it did, I would be like, ‘Yeah, I was. We were talking, getting to know each other.’ It just actually never happened.”

Reassuring KJ that she would similarly “have anxiety” if she thought that he “liked someone else also,” Dara added, “I can get why you were, like, trying to process that and didn’t necessarily want to interact. But genuinely, the person that I had an interest in was you.”

Dara went on to tell KJ, “It seems a little bit sabotage-y that Bailey would just start saying things baselessly,” before further remarking, “Maybe I can have a conversation with her and clear things up.”

When Lindsay initially broached the subject of Dara and Ben previously “flirting,” KJ brushed it off, explaining, “It literally was like nothing to her. Like, she was just flirting ’cause she’s like he was a fun, like, person to flirt with.”

His mood shifted, however, when Lindsay mentioned Bailey’s accusation, asking, “What did they talk about in his room for an hour?” (A flashback to the previous week showed Bailey telling Lindsay, “She literally went into Ben’s room wearing one outfit and came out in another.”)

Afterward, KJ discussed the situation with several other housemates throughout the day, before opening up to a producer.

“I’m already anxious about Dara coming to the house and making sure she’s having a good time and feels included,” he shared. “And then I’m being reminded of the party where I already felt jealous of Ben because I liked Dara. And I like her now. And, like I’ve said, I’m a very honest person, and, you know, if she wasn’t being honest about that, then it’s like, what else are you hiding?”

After having what he described to Ciara Miller and Mia Calabrese as a “panic attack,” KJ admitted that he was “rethinking” his romance with Dara. However, he also copped to trying to “stop something before it even started” as a way of “protecting” himself from getting hurt.

After addressing everything with Dara directly, however, KJ said he was “glad” that he got everything off his chest. What’s more, Dara and KJ recently confirmed that they are still dating today.

A confrontation between Dara Levitan and Bailey Taylor is ahead on Summer House

When KJ told Dara that she would have the opportunity to clear the air with Bailey the following weekend, she sarcastically responded, “I can’t wait.”

Indeed, the Summer House midseason trailer already previewed a tense confrontation ahead between Dara, Bailey, and Levi Sebree.

In the sneak peek at what’s still to come on Summer House Season 10, Dara maintained, “We didn’t hook up,” presumably referring to Ben. However, Bailey and Levi did not appear to believe her version of events. After Bailey replied, “That’s bulls–t,” Levi chimed in, “Do not lie. Like, you guys obviously had a moment. That’s s–tty.”

Dara, for her part, broke the fourth wall, responding, “No. Run the tape back.” But you’ll have to tune in to find out how the full conversation plays out.
