Kyle Cooke may have been one of the last Summer House cast members to find out that Amanda Batula was considering a trial separation, months before they eventually split, hence his shock when Ciara Miller filled him in on that fact.
During Season 10, Episode 14, Ciara revealed to several of their housemates that she and Amanda had a discussion on the matter the previous week in New York City, before dropping the bombshell on Kyle at the group’s beach day in the Hamptons.Â
Their conversation actually kicked off with Kyle declaring his belief that he and Amanda were “in a way better place,” thanks, in part, to couples therapy, though he still questioned if they were “both gonna put in the effort,” moving forward.

That’s when Ciara told Kyle that she’d actually met up with Amanda “right after” their recent therapy session. “She was, like, happy to go and happy to be able to, like, just finally say everything,” Ciara said. “But at the same time, like, as we were talking it through, I’m like, I feel like a lot of y’all’s frustration exists because, like, you guys never have a moment… You live on top of each other.”
Ciara continued, “I’m like, ‘Would it be a crazy idea if you guys physically just separated for a month?’ I know that you love her. You guys love each other. No one’s ever denied that. But, like, what is real here is, like, how you guys treat each other in this space and, like, the mental load that this all brings upon you guys.”
How Kyle Cooke reacted to Ciara Miller and Amanda Batula’s “separation conversation”
When Kyle asked for details on Amanda’s reaction to her trial separation suggestion, Ciara further divulged, “She said she would be open to that, but she didn’t know if you would be open to that.”
Appearing to be stunned, Kyle replied, “You said she’s receptive, huh? It’s just so scary.” After Ciara acknowledged his feelings and added that “it’s not an easy thing” for her to say either, he thanked her for “easing [him] into that.” Ciara went on to insist that she simply didn’t want him or Amanda to be “so f–kin’ miserable” anymore.

“I just don’t know what she actually does want, if I’m being honest,” Kyle declared, before opening up more in a confessional.Â
“I’m kinda shocked,” Kyle admitted to a producer. “The fact that there’s separation conversations happening within our friend group, unbeknownst to me, while we’re trying to put our best foot forward in therapy, is disheartening. Like, we’re supposed to be putting it all out there with the therapist. You know, now this feels like there’s an elephant in the room, and I’m second-guessing what we’re doing.”
Inside Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s latest clash over his DJ career
Though Kyle did not bring up his and Ciara’s talk to Amanda during Summer House‘s May 5 episode, he clashed with his wife (and more of the rest of the cast, for that matter) at Lindsay Hubbard’s second annual “freedom dinner,” the same weekend. Amid a group activity meant to help them reflect on the summer coming to an end, the topic turned to the future of Kyle’s DJ career as he prepared to sign with a new manager.
Amanda informed everyone that Kyle was “going to Vegas,” and Lindsay entered the chat to question him about not including his wife in his decision to go all-in on DJing as a career path. What’s more, Lindsay accused Kyle of acting as though “DJing is more important than having a family” with Amanda.
“She is not ready to have a kid, OK?” Kyle fired back. “You can blast me all you want. … Do not blame this on me.”
As the temperature at the dinner escalated, Kyle expressed feeling as though he was “under attack,” just as he’d “felt all summer long.” Amanda, for her part, briefly weighed in here and there but for the most part, remained silent. Regardless, as Kyle grew more agitated, he called out Amanda, telling her, ‘F–k you.”
The cast quickly jumped to Amanda’s offense. Lindsay, for one, insisted that Amanda had “not said anything” to her at all. When Kyle questioned where all of Lindsay’s criticism toward him was coming from, Amanda responded, “Don’t look at me! … I’m not even chiming in to the conversation.”
As Kyle continued to unpack his and Amanda’s marital issues and lack of a true “partnership,” she spoke up to say, “Alright, this is not a table conversation, because he can’t handle it.” A fired-up Kyle, meanwhile, declared that he was “losing [his] mind,” and nobody there had any “f–king idea” what he’d been dealing with behind closed doors.
The episode ended on a cliffhanger, as Kyle eventually stormed out the front door, and several cast members followed behind him.
As you await the episode’s continuation, take a deeper look inside Amanda’s conversation with Ciara about potentially separating from Kyle on Summer House.
