When Kyle visited Amanda’s new apartment for the first time during Episode 6 (streaming on Peacock beginning June 24), he admitted that he “acted out” during her last night in their shared home (more on that below). Amanda retorted that Kyle had actually “been acting out for 10 years,” however, asking him, “Were you acting out when you cheated on me and had sex with someone else? Was that acting out?”

Kyle, for his part, began to explain that he was “almost 10 years younger and scared to commit,” at the time, but Amanda interjected, “Yeah, and nothing’s changed. … That’s what I have a problem with.”

In a confessional, she elaborated, “We had just gotten married. He went out and was drunk, and I get a DM with like a video being like, ‘I saw Kyle making out with someone last night.’ And then there was a time before that where, like, he was at this party with a bunch of people and I was getting DMs from the girl herself saying Kyle was, like, very handsy with her and, like, asking if he could kiss her.”

When a producer questioned if she’d ever told anyone about the alleged infidelity, Amanda said she had not, because she was “embarrassed” by the whole situation.

With that said, Kyle explained that he felt he’d “never live that down” with Amanda and didn’t understand why she was still bringing up the past cheating incident 10 years later. “If you literally hold everything over my head…” he began, but Amanda cut him off again.

“It’s hard to put the past behind us when you keep doing the same s–t,” she fired back, referring to him going out the night before her move. From Kyle’s perspective, he was hoping that they could have enjoyed “one of the most fun weekends in New York City” together while also “focusing on” their relationship. “At what point do you meet in the middle?” he asked.

“I was moving the next day, Kyle,” Amanda replied. “That’s overwhelming and emotional for me. Sorry I wasn’t at the marathon drinking all day. I had friends asking to come over and help me pack. My mom was like, ‘Wish I could be there.’ You? Out from 9 a.m. to 2:00 in the morning.”

She concluded, “I know what you need from me; I know what you want different from me. My fear is that you’re not capable doing what I need from you.”

What happened the night before Amanda Batula moved out of her and Kyle Cooke’s apartment

Earlier in the June 23 episode of In The City, Kyle broke down his behavior immediately before Amanda moved out of their shared apartment. “Her last night in our home being a night that I just stayed out and kind of disrespected our marriage was kind of like a knee-jerk reaction to just not knowing how to process this and, quite frankly, be around it,” he told a producer.

In a flashback to a conversation Kyle had with several of his male castmates, he added that he’d been on “the most stressful investor calls ever” for Loverboy amid Amanda’s last-minute packing and moving which prevented him from pitching in. By his account, Amanda was “pissed off” both because he “wasn’t able to help” her and because he “went out” the night before she left. “I just feel guilty because she basically left in tears,” Kyle said.

During their conversation later on, Kyle reiterated to Amanda that he “felt horrible about how it left off” between them. That’s when she accused him of also “bringing strangers back” to their apartment while she was asleep that night. Though Amanda referred to the people as “fans,” Kyle clarified that the two people were “very nice” and actually shared a mutual friend with him.

Still, Amanda referred to Kyle’s behavior as “crazy” and said that she just wanted her husband to come home and “not see something on the internet about him the next day,” thereby sparking their aforementioned cheating conversation.

As their relationship continues to implode on In The City, don’t miss what Amanda revealed about her own dating life while still married to Kyle.
