Teddi Mellencamp is sharing how far she has come in her battle with Stage 4 cancer. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was diagnosed with melanoma that spread to her brain and lungs in 2025 and has since been undergoing immunotherapy treatments to treat it. But a lot has changed for her in the past year as she revealed in her recent update timed to her 45th birthday.
The mom of three took to her Instagram Story on June 30, just one day before her birthday, where she posted a photo of her head taken one year ago to the day. She contrasted this to a photo of her now, showing just how much her appearance has changed in the past year. “Last year on my bday,” she wrote over the photo from July 2025, documenting her shaved head and scar from her brain surgery.
She then posted a photo of herself now, rocking a blonde pixie cut and wearing a t-shirt covered in red hearts. “So for anyone who is curious. This is after one year of regrowth after losing it all during radiation,” she noted.

Teddi then took to her Instagram account the next day, on her birthday on July 1, where she posted a sweet photo of herself as a child hugging a horse. She reflected on her health journey over the past year in the caption of the post.
“Happy Birthday to me!” she wrote. “I made it to 45, but not without the help of my friends, family, surgeons, doctors, nurses, and all the support from you here. I apologize in advance to anyone who texts, calls, or messages that I don’t respond to. I am so grateful to all of you and dare I say, praying this is the best year yet (Yes, this was me, not Slate).”

Teddi Mellencamp opens up about her hair journey during cancer
While Teddi’s hair has grown so much within the past year, she has admitted to struggling with finding the perfect style for her new ‘do. She took to Instagram on April 29, where she posted a video showing off her hair with its shag cut. “The hair is too long for the wigs, and I’m sick of the wigs,” she admitted. “But like, what are we supposed to do here? I can’t. Someone send tips.”
She then proceeded to consult her 11-year-old son, Cruz Arroyave, for help styling it while it was growing out. While he tried his best with a diffuser and some styling product, Teddi admitted in a separate Instagram post that Cruz’s look was not for her. “Cruz thought he could help with my hair sitch, but really all he did was make me look like one of the Paul brothers,” she explained in the caption.
