Emily Simpson and Shane Simpson open up about their marriage

At the end of RHOC Season 19, Emily and Shane continued to navigate their son Luke Simpson’s “evolving diagnosis” which includes avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and dyslexia. Emily appeared on an episode of Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition in November, following the RHOC Season 19 finale, where the couple opened up about the hardships in their marriage.

“I’m an attorney and most of my time is spent with domestic duties,” Shane explained during the episode. “Emily knows I do a lot, but I don’t think she values how much it is.”

However, Emily admitted that she didn’t expect there to be such an imbalance in their relationship. “When Shane and I first got married, it was supposed to be, I’d be home with the kids and Shane would work. And then I end up on a TV show. I work more than I ever anticipated,” she noted.

But, she acknowledged how much her husband does during a confessional. “I should have sex with him more,” she joked with a producer. “He does a lot.”
