Jessel Taank’s husband, Pavit Randhawa, responded to rumors about his sexuality that came to light during The Real Housewives of New York City‘s Season 16, denying claims that he’s gay and “cheating” on his wife.

During a debrief about the RHONY cast trip to Moskito Island in Episode 8, Jessel explained to Pavit that Sai De Silva revealed to her that Erin Lichy had said “despicable things” about him. When Pavit asked his wife of 10 years if she was referring to stuff Erin “has talked about in the past,” Jessel clarified, “No. She’s basically spreading a rumor that you bat for the other team.”
“Wait, hold on. That I’m gay?” Pavit asked, before replying, “Well, first of all, I know myself, and I am straight. Ask any of my gay friends. I only project straightness. Not that it’s bad being gay, but…”
Before he could finish his statement, Jessel chimed in, “There’s, like, nothing wrong with that. But it’s the fact she is literally going around using it as, like, ammunition.”

How Pavit Randhawa responded to the rumors online
Prior to RHONY‘s Oct. 27 episode, Pavit had already poked fun at the rumors in a video filmed at the gym. The clip, posted to Instagram on Oct. 14, shows Pavit playfully documenting his workout, with the man who was filming him repeatedly asking if he was ready for the stream room yet.
“I do love to break a sweat at Equinox but not in that way,” Pavit captioned his Reel, adding a wink emoticon and the “fake news” hashtag.
In the comments section of the post, even Andy Cohen wrote, “Well done.”
What happened between Pavit Randhawa and Erin Lichy in the past?
Before the most recent rumors about Pavit surfaced, he and Erin previously had conflict during RHONY Season 14 regarding his solo trips to Vietnam. At the time, Erin had questioned if Pavit had really flown to Asia for less than 48 hours just to eat banh mi, before also using the drought in his and Jessel’s sex life to speculate about the state of their marriage.
“When you start adding that to the pot with ‘I haven’t had sex in two years. He was my roommate,’ it’s strange,” a “confused” Erin remarked in a past confessional that re-aired during Season 16.
