Two years after Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce from Jax Taylor, their legal split has yet to be finalized, she revealed during The Valley‘s Season 3 reunion.
Despite describing her first-ever reunion without Jax as a “great relief,” Brittany said that she hadn’t found the same respite amid their ongoing legal battle. After Brittany confirmed on Part 1 of The Valley reunion that she and Jax had reached a custody agreement regarding their 5-year-old son Cruz Cauchi, host Andy Cohen asked her for a divorce update.
“We have another [court] date, July 21, so we’ll see,” replied Brittany, who filed to divorce Jax in August 2024. Since the reunion taping on June 18, 2026, Brittany has not publicly shared any further updates on her and Jax’s divorce status.Â
Brittany Cartwright gives an update on her financial situation with Jax Taylor today
Previously on Season 2 of The Valley, Jax admitted to owing six years’ worth of unpaid taxes. In order to settle the debt, he said that he had re-mortgaged his former family home that Brittany currently lives in with Cruz. At the time, Brittany estimated that her ex had racked up $1.2 million in tax debt. What’s more, she said that she was left on the hook for the monthly mortgage payment that she claimed had increased from $8,000 to $18,000.
During the Season 3 reunion, Andy questioned if Jax’s name was “fully off the deed and mortgage” now, to which Brittany answered, “It will be when the divorce happens, but … I pay for everything.”
That begged the question of whether or not Brittany was “still paying for Jax’s $1.2 million tax debt,” which the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host asked her next. “I am paying his loan that he took out for his taxes against the house, yeah,” Brittany shared.
Brittany Cartwright opens up about her dating life following her split from Jax Taylor
Jax wasn’t the only recent ex for whom Brittany had allegedly opened her wallet. As seen on Season 3, Brittany explained that she’d given money to her now-ex-boyfriend Brandon Hanson as compensation for him missing work to help her recover from her mommy makeover surgery. At the reunion, Brittany disclosed that the “embarrassing” total amount that she’d given Brandon fell somewhere between five and 10 grand.
Brittany, meanwhile, was the first to confirm that her “picker’s off,” as Andy put it. “Oh yeah,” she told the WWHL host. “Like, there is not a doubt in my mind.” That said, Brittany predicted that everyone would be “proud of” how she’s been working to recalibrate herself recently.
“I’ve been talking with a narcissistic abuse coach,” Brittany elaborated. “I feel like that’s really gonna help me. But I see the best in everybody, and what sucks is, like, I don’t really wanna change that about myself. But I have to set bigger boundaries.”

For now, Brittany added that she is more focused on her life as a mom. “Me and Cruz are just two peas in a pod,” she stated. “So, we’re just working on his therapies and everything, and he’s doing so good. And I’m still healing myself, but doing so much better, even from what you saw on this season. I’m in such a great place.”
