Washington DC – Songs written by Taylor Swift have been removed from videos posted over the last week by President Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House.
Trump administration social media accounts had used two of Swift’s songs over the past week in posts touting MAGA propaganda.
One TikTok video featured the caption: “Red (Donald ​Trump’s Version). Red (Taylor Swift Wrote A Whole Album About Republicans). Donald Trump. Everything Has Changed (At Our Southern Border). Donald Trump. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (The Biden Harris Administration). Donald Trump. The Last Time (An Autopen Runs The Country).”
In June, the Trump campaign posted a video featuring Swift’s new song I Knew It, I Knew You, from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, and included the caption: “Nobody loves our country & the American People more than @President Donald J Trump.”

White House-linked accounts have also used songs such as High Infidelity, The Fate of Ophelia, and more.
Swift’s song August was used in a recent video showing Trump and First Lady Melania Trump watching fireworks. It mocked the singer, writing that she will be “super excited” her song was used.
While both recent posts are still online, Swift’s music has been removed. Fans and insiders are saying they were copyright struck.
During the 2024 election, Swift endorsed then Vice President Kamala Harris, writing on Instagram: “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
Trump has been salty ever since, regularly attacking Swift with playground-style insults. After her endorsement of Harris, he declared in all-caps: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
