California chiropractor gets 6 years in state prison for sexually battering multiple women

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (TCN) — A 45-year-old man has been sentenced to six years in state prison for the sexual battery of several female patients he treated at his chiropractic practice between 2022 and 2024.

According to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, the investigation into Fernando Juarez Gomez Jr., the owner of now-closed Limitless Functional Therapy in Ventura, California, began after two patients reported he had sexually battered them at their appointments.

Investigators learned that from 2022 to 2024, Juarez Gomez inappropriately touched patients in areas unrelated to treatment, per the DA. He was arrested on March 21, 2024, and more victims came forward following his arrest.

Juarez Gomez was convicted on June 24 of five felony counts of sexual battery involving four women. In addition, he pleaded guilty to one count of battery against another woman and the court found true that Juarez Gomez had taken advantage of a position of trust. He was sentenced to six years in state prison on Aug. 14.

According to Senior Deputy District Attorney Twyla Atmore, “The defendant told these young women that his methods would eliminate their pain and help them achieve their athletic goals. … Instead, he touched the most intimate parts of their bodies for his own sexual gratification under the guise of therapeutic treatment. The jury’s verdict and today’s sentence send a clear message that his behavior was unacceptable.”
