WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. (TCN) — A 29-year-old man has been charged in connection with the alleged beating death of his mother.
On Aug. 30, Christin Hamilton was found dead outside her home by her daughter, CBS News reports. According to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Steve Limani, Hamilton was wearing a towel when her son, Jakob Korber, allegedly attacked her outside the home. The alleged attack lasted for about an hour and was reportedly recorded on a home security camera. According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, the two had gotten into an argument before Korber allegedly assaulted Hamilton.
Limani told CBS News Hamilton’s daughter was asleep inside the home at the time and did not hear her mother screaming for help and nor did any neighbors. “She went through hell for over an hour, and it was at the hands of her son,” Limani alleged.
Following the alleged assault, Korber allegedly changed clothes and walked to a nearby field, where he fell asleep, according to CBS News. He was arrested at about 5 p.m. that day. According to the DA, he was charged with one count of criminal homicide.
In his interview with authorities, Korber allegedly said that if his mother was dead, he had caused her death.
According to CBS News, more charges may be forthcoming. Korber is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 14 for a preliminary hearing.
