Did Vicki Gunvalson’s Boyfriend Take Back Engagement Ring?

The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Vicki Gunvalson set the record straight amid rumors that boyfriend Michael Smith already proposed but took back her engagement ring. “There is no fact to what Tamra’s saying, that I got a ring and he took it back,” Vicki reiterated on the RHOC After Show. “If I got a diamond ring and he took it back, we wouldn’t be together. So, I don’t know what the point is of her doing this.”

She added, “Tamra makes up s–t in her mind, and she spits it out of her mouth. I don’t know why everybody’s so concerned about my life and my relationship with Mike.”

Noting that nobody in her life, outside of her RHOC castmates, talk about her and Mike’s romance, Vicki continued, “They’re a dog with a bone, because they have nothing else to talk about. So, they’re talking about my life. And first of all, I told them, ‘Stop. It’s not your life. It’s my life.’ … Leave me alone!”

Vicki Gunvalson reveals her feelings about marrying Michael Smith

When Mike actually does pop the question, Vicki said that she will “gladly accept” the engagement ring that he’s had stowed away in a safe for more than a year. Officially tying the knot is not high on her list of priorities, however.

“I’m not needing to get married again,” Vicki, who’s been married twice, further shared on the After Show. “Financially, nope. He’s got his money; I’ve got mine. Morally, probably more so yes, to show my children, you know, I’m in a committed relationship and I’m married again. It’s gonna be a joint decision when [I do] get engaged, and I might just stay engaged forever and never get married. I don’t know.”

Either way, Vicki added that she and Mike have no intention of ever having a big wedding ceremony.

“If we get married, we’ll go to the church in Puerto Vallarta and get married,” she said. “It’s not even on the forefront of our mind. He bought a ring he fell in love with. He bought it. It’s in the safe. Done. Everybody else needs to shut the eff up. It’s not their business. I haven’t seen it; I have no knowledge about it. When he wants to put it on my finger, I will gladly accept it. Until then, I’m good.”

Michael Smith’s 90-day rule for Vicki Gunvalson, explained

The reason the drama ignited on RHOC in the first place was because some of the ladies believed Mike was using the engagement ring as leverage over Vicki. Tamra, for one, could only speculate why he would tell Vicki that he bought the ring but then let so much time pass without actually giving it to her.

In RHOC‘s supersized Sept. 3 episode, Gina Kirschenheiter brought up that Vicki had made comments about how Mike “got pissed off” at her. leading to him putting the kibosh on proposing. That’s when Tamra recalled Mike’s recent visit to their hotel room during the cast trip to Las Vegas.

“That night when he came to our room, he goes, ‘She’s got 90 days to not piss me off. And she makes it to 70, and then I say we’ve gotta do it again,'” Tamra claimed.

However, Vicki clarified later on that Mike’s 90-day rule before proposing “was a joke.” She added, “Marriage is a big deal. At my age, I am not doing it unless I have zero red flags. I am not in a rush.”

As the drama continues, don’t miss a full timeline of Vicki’s RHOC journey.
