Having previously appeared on RHONY Seasons 5 through 10, Carole has not taken her Bravo comeback lightly. “I feel the pressure,” she admitted in an exclusive Bravo Insider interview. “It feels different this time. Why did Carole Radziwill leave RHONY?
Carole announced she was leaving RHONY in July 2018. At the time, she explained the reason behind her departure in a statement to Bravo, noting that she had decided to shift focus back to her career amid a waning interest in appearing on reality TV.
“After six seasons on Bravo’s RHONYC, I have decided to return to what I do best — journalism and producing,” Carole wrote in 2018. “I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind.”
She continued, “My original curiosity about reality television has waned over the years, and I am focusing on TV and writing projects that better suit my more steady temperament. I have worked with amazing producers, made great friends, and I’m thrilled to leave frenemies behind. I will remember this entire experience with delight, humor, and a veracious accuracy. Next.”
Why did Carole Radziwill return to RHONY?
In her recent Bravo Insider interview, Carole recalled still being on the fence about returning to RHONY even after Andy Cohen made the in-person pitch over coffee. However, some passionate fans who were clamoring for her Bravo comeback ultimately swayed Carole’s decision to join Season 16.
In particular, Carole highlighted a “touching” interaction that she’d experienced with a stranger in a hospital. The “emotional” woman, who was visiting her sick brother in the ICU, recognized Carole from RHONY and shared that just having met her had brightened an otherwise difficult day.

“Just something about that moment, not to be super corny or basic, but there was magic in it,” Carole shared. “And I just thought, you know, people love that show. It’s these micro transactions that happen every day that really, over the long haul, change your life. You’re gonna bring them joy. It was one of the turning points.”

Describing the filming experience as “great,” Erin said, “Carol and I are actually friends. We’ve been friends for a while.”
Jessel, meanwhile, added, “I read a lot on the internet that we would be like oil and water, so I was a little bit nervous. But she’s really fun. I absolutely adore her. I really enjoy spending time with her. She has a lot of interesting insights. She’s good listener. I think she has good advice.”
Similarly, Sai remarked, “I love Carole for the simple fact that we’re from a different generation. She’s learning things about us that didn’t happen when she was on RHONY. More to come with our personal story, but Carole is very interesting and really funny. But she does say, ‘In my generation…’ a lot. A lot.“
