Washington DC – First Lady Melania Trump‘s documentary, which was hailed for its box office performance, has now been blown out by a new film that almost managed to completely outgross it.

According to Box Office Mojo, You Can See Everything, which debuted on Friday, has already managed to pull in $15 million during its opening weekend alone, which consisted of a domestic run of 855 theaters across the country.
By comparison, the Melania film pulled in $7 million during its opening weekend back in January, and, to date, has only managed to earn $16 million total – and that figure includes international showings.
You Can See Everything is a film in which directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim follow notorious Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes for 34 days before she is scheduled to begin an 11-year prison sentence for fraud.

The nearly three-hour film gives Holmes an opportunity to argue the case for her innocence, but ends up taking wild and dark twists and turns that have clearly captivated audiences, earning it a 98% with audiences and critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Melania follows the first lady leading up to President Donald Trump’s second inauguration, offering an in-depth look into a life that tends to be shrouded in secrecy.
Film critics have largely panned the film, with many describing it as a vanity piece and even propaganda for the Trump administration.
Though its low box office pull suggests that most Americans simply weren’t that interested, Rotten Tomatoes has its audience score at 99%.

Amazon MGM, the company that produced the Melania movie, has been heavily criticized over the project, as they spent an astounding $75 million to make and promote it, with the first lady pocketing more than $10 million.
At the time of its release in January, the company praised its opening weekend, noting in a statement that its $7 million pull was unprecedented for a documentary, indicating a “strong theatrical performance.”
Trump and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos have both been pressed on whether the project was an effort by the company to buy the president’s favor, but both have denied having any part in the production.

During an interview in May, when asked about the low box office numbers, Bezos insisted it was very successful and praised the Amazon team for making “a very wise business decision.”
While Bezos and Amazon insist they are not showing favor to the Trumps, both appear intent on continuing to work closely with them.
The company will soon release a docuseries about Melania and is rumored to be working on a reboot of The Apprentice with Donald Trump Jr. as the host.
