It’s been six seasons since Below Deck last filmed in Thailand, and Captain Kerry Titheradge had a serious warning for his Season 13 crew as they embarked upon the waters surrounding Phuket in the new yacht Azul V.
“Thailand’s beautiful. But it comes with its own dangers,” he cautioned his team during Below Deck’s Oct. 12 episode. “If something feels off, say something. Weather can turn very fast.”
His words come as the Below Deck Season 13 trailer, which you can watch above, previews nasty weather on the horizon for the crew, with Captain Kerry sounding the alarm over the radio to chief stew Fraser Olender, “We are in a bad situation with this wind. We’re trying to pack up.” The crew is then shown frantically trying to pull all the inflatables and toys in, even amongst threats to “cut” things loose.
In another scary moment, Kerry can be heard telling everyone to “stay off comms” and “lose all the lights.”
“There’s a lot of activity and boats tearing around. Not everybody would run a boat like we do,” he continued during the Oct. 12 episode. “So, be aware. I want you guys to enjoy Thailand, but don’t drop your standards.”
How Thailand’s conditions will challenge the Below Deck Season 13 crew
Although the trailer for Below Deck Season 13 teases the expected challenges like beach picnics and demanding guests, there are some moments unique to the location still to come this season.
Of the beautiful scenery, Fraser wonders out loud, “Am I in Jurassic Park?” during the opening moments of the preview above, while an off-camera crew member points out the monkeys running around.
Both the crew and guests also will encounter elephants, with someone warning, “Elephants, they can fart on you.” Later, deckhand Kaylee Brown holds up a container of elephant feces, and declares, “I picked up the poo!”

Fraser was also happy to be in Thailand, no matter how tough the conditions. “To be honest, Thailand was on my bucket list, and the fact that I’m here is amazing,” he told Bravo Insider. “Southeast Asia is incredible, and I’m gonna do some exploring after this season.”
Kerry teased that this season might feel a little different than seasons past. “This season of Below Deck we really focused on growth and coming together, and I really felt that,” he explained. “And this season of Below Deck, the biggest difference with my crew is I really felt the vibe of growth,” he said.
