Massachusetts Woman Arrested For Bomb Threat Against Children’s Hospital
Catherine Leavy was charged with making a false bomb threat by telephone in federal court and faces up to five years in prison, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.
At a press conference on Thursday, the US Attorney for Massachusetts, Rachael Rollins, said that a caller to the hospital on August 30 said, “There is a bomb on the way to the hospital. You better evacuate everybody, you sickos,” NBC News reported.
Leavy’s arrest, however, is a drop in the ocean compared to months of far-right harassment directed at children’s hospitals by anti-trans activists with millions of social media followers.
Last Friday, Boston Children’s got another threat.
Some of the same activists who have spread false information about the hospitals have started to doubt the validity of the bomb threat. One Boston Police statement was tweeted out by Chaya Raichik of LibsOfTikTok, who questioned whether journalists would look into it and stated that “many questions remain” without providing any further context.
The announcement on Thursday comes just after a California man who had threatened Merriam-Webster with “shooting up and bombing your offices for lying and producing bogus definitions in order to cater to the tranny mafia” entered a guilty plea on Wednesday.
After receiving the threat, the dictionary’s Springfield, Massachusetts, offices were forced to close. This came after the dictionary had been modified to incorporate definitions of several words that took into account gender. When Jeremy David Hanson was arrested in April, NBC News claimed that Hanson had used the website’s “contact us” tool to send his messages.
It is extremely terrible that Merriam-Webster now propagates anti-science propaganda and offers obvious lies. The concept of “gender identity” does not exist. He wrote, “The idiot who posted this entry ought to be tracked down and shot.
“Part of the Left’s efforts to pollute and degrade the English language and deny reality,” he said of the modifications.
“Your headquarters ought to be bombed and shot up. All of you nasty Marxists ought to be executed. It would be poetic justice for someone to attack your offices and open fire, killing all of you communists, the author said.
