Missing Alabama mom found fatally shot inside burning car’ A 31-year-old woman was found dead inside a burning car one day after she failed to return from making a Facebook Marketplace purchase.
On June 1, Birmingham Police shared a missing person bulletin for Jermiera Fowler, which said she was last seen May 31 at approximately 4 p.m. on the 500 block of 41st Street North. Police said she had not been seen or heard from since meeting someone to make the Facebook Marketplace exchange and that she was “considered to be in danger.”

The same day, Birmingham Police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue went to the 200 block of Sellers Road for a report of a burned body. Police located the victim, later identified as Fowler, and said she was “unresponsive and had been burned.”
According to police, Fowler had sustained “visible signs of trauma.”
Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced Fowler dead at the scene. Investigators later learned she suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
In their statement, Birmingham Police said they could not confirm Fowler’s Facebook Marketplace purchase played a role in her death.
AL.com reports Fowler was the mother of two children.
Although police initially stated she disappeared following a possible meetup with a person to complete a Facebook Marketplace transaction, they later said they could not confirm the meeting.
