Cecily Aguilar, the woman indicted in relation to the 2020 murder of Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen has received a 30-year federal prison sentence.
In the sentencing hearing on Monday, August 14, investigators disclosed that a witness, who conversed with Cecily Aguilar, had divulged unsettling additional information concerning the murder of the female soldier in 2020.

Where is Cecily Aguilar now?
Aguilar chose not to proceed with a trial, as reported by KWTX. She is now facing a minimum of 30 years of imprisonment, along with the potential for a fine reaching $1 million.
Following her release from prison, there is a possibility of facing 12 years of federal supervision, according to KWTX.

How old is Cecily Aguilar now?
Aguilar, 25, pleaded guilty to three counts of giving false information and one count of being an accessory after the fact last year.
Spc. Aaron Robinson, who was dating Aguilar at the time, was charged with killing and mutilating Vanessa Guillen.
Then, according to Robinson, Aguilar helped dispose of Guillen’s remains close to Fort Cavazos, Texas, also known as Fort Hood.
Robinson committed suicide in 2020 as police closed in on him, leaving Aguilar as the only person accused of killing Vanessa Guillen.

What did Cecily Aguilar do to Vanessa Guillen?
In 2021, Aguilar faced a federal indictment consisting of 11 charges for aiding her former boyfriend, Army Specialist Aaron Robinson, in unlawfully modifying, destroying, mutilating, and concealing Vanessa Guillen’s body.
This was an attempt to protect Robinson from being held accountable for bludgeoning Guillen to death with a hammer in the armoury of Fort Cavazos military base in April 2020.
Her remains were discovered two months later.

In 2020, when authorities approached Robinson after analyzing cellphone records that indicated Robinson was the last person in contact with Guillen prior to her murder, Robinson took his own life.
Following this, Aguilar was swiftly apprehended and accused of being involved in a conspiracy to tamper with the evidence. She was formally indicted just 12 days after her arrest.
